Appleton Thorn Pre-School

Appleton Thorn Pre-school is a Charitable Incorporate Organisation and is run by a board of Trustees, who are parents of children and volunteers.  The pre-school operates from Appleton Thorn Village Hall and offers sessions from 9:00am to 12noon and 12noon to 3:00pm Monday to Friday during term time. Children are welcome to attend as many or as few sessions as required. Fully funded places are available for three and four year olds and eligible two year olds. Fees can be paid for additional hours.

Tuesday morning sessions are run from the school hall (Appleton Thorn Primary School) where the children have a gym session as well as their usual choice of activities. These sessions and other activities that pre-school attend at school, such as cultural mornings, help create a smooth transition from pre-school to reception class.

Appleton Thorn Pre-school also has strong links with St Cross Church and frequently take groups of children to attend Praise and Play sessions as well as performing their annual nativity play there.

All staff are qualified and experienced.  Staff work with children to help them develop skills, knowledge and understanding across the seven areas of development detailed in the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. The pre-school operates a key person system and your child will be allocated a key person who will work closely with you and your child to make him/her feel safe and secure and will closely monitor their development.
