School Meals and School Snack

The school has National Healthy Schools Status and we operate a healthy eating policy and have worked closely with our school meals provider to ensure that your child can eat healthily every day. School lunches, which are prepared on the premises, are on a three week rotation; baked potatoes and salads are available daily as well as other home cooked choices. Children may bring a packed lunch if you prefer and we appreciate parents / carers support in ensuring that the contents are in line with the school’s healthy eating policy. The menu that we are currently following is attached to this page. If you have any concerns or questions about the meals provided then please come and speak to the office staff. From September 2014 all infant children (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) are entiltled to a free school meal.

Upon joining the school all children are provided with a water bottle. We ask that these are refilled on a daily basis and we give the children access to them throughout the day. All children wishing to have a mid morning snack are requested to purchase it from school. The choices currently available are: fresh fruit and toast, orange juice, apple juice and milk. All infant children are provided with a piece of fresh fruit every day which is eaten in the afternoon. Free milk is also given to children in our Reception class until they reach the age of 5. Parents wishing to apply for free school meals can obtain information from the school office.

All money for lunches and snacks should be sent into school on Monday or the first day of school after the holiday, cheques to be made payable to Warrington Borough Council. In order to keep administration to a minimum, it is greatly appreciated if dinners are paid in advance for the whole half term. A monthly direct debit scheme is also in operation. Please contact the school office to set this up.
