What makes a good computer scientist? – Our Intent
We aim to provide our children with competence in coding for a variety of practical and inventive purposes, including the application of ideas within other subjects. By the end of year 6 our children have the ability to connect with others safely and respectfully, understanding the need to act within the law and with moral and ethical integrity. We ensure that our children have an understanding of the connected nature of devices. Our ambitious curriculum ensures that children have the ability to communicate ideas well by using applications and devices throughout the curriculum; and the ability to collect, organise and manipulate data effectively.
Computing- Education for our future generation – Implementation
Our curriculum comprises of both the understanding of how/ why it works – coding; and using technology to enhance learning –computer literacy.

Inspiring our children
Bill Gates 
At the time when Bill was growing up, there weren’t home computers like the PC, the laptop, or the tablet like we have today. Computers were owned by large companies and took up lots of space. Lakeside school purchased time on one of these computers that the students could use. Bill found the computer fascinating. The first computer program he wrote was a version of tic-tac-toe ….
