Appleton Thorn 'Bawming the Thorn' Day will take place on Saturday the 17th June at 12pm, the community are invited to join the parade from the Primary School to the village tree; watch the traditional dances and sing the traditional Bawming Song, then parade back behind the marching band to the school to the ticketed event (can also purchase on the gate). Afterwards, the Primary School are hosting their very first 'Bawm Fest' at 1pm, a celebration of music and dance including performances on two stages from pupils, community members, musicians and local bands. In addition to commercial and fete stalls and games hot food, drinks and ice-cream will be available to purchase. We are really looking forward to welcoming our community and wider community to our First Bawm Fest event.
