Welcome to Starlings, Appleton Thorn's wrap around care provision, where we aim to provide happy, secure, before and after school sessions for children that offer continuity and familiarity within the setting of the school building. Children from Pre-School to Year 6 are provided with a range of fun activities and opportunities within our link club, run by high quality and qualified staff, all of whom are familiar faces to the children. A feeling of 'home from home' will encompass all elements of our care.
All profits from this provision will be carefully reinvested back into our school.
Our Story
During 2020 the COVID pandemic happened and nobody went to school. In 2021, there were now children coming to school but there was no link club. That’s right, sadly the link club had no money so it had to close.
After a couple of days of hard work from the teachers they made a new club. We had a school vote for the new name and it became Starlings.
After a couple of months, it became a fun-filled, happy place where people could come any morning or afternoon. This is how Starlings came to be.
