Proud to be an accredited My Happy Mind School
We are proud to announce that we are a myHappymind Bronze Accredited school!
This means that as a school we consider the mental health and wellbeing of our children as one of our top priorities. We have created a whole school culture that helps build our children's resilience, confidence and self esteem as well as teaching them how to self regulate in those stressful times.
This Accreditation badge has been awarded thanks to all the effort our staff, children, governors and parents have put in to bring the lessons of myHappymind to life all around our school!

School's Link Service
Our school team Mental Health Lead and school staff work closely with the NHS Mental Health Service. The school subscribes to this service and is able to refer children for a consultation with specialist mental health nurses. We have found this service to be invaluable; supporting our children as early as possible.
Mental Health First Aid
We have fully trained 'Mental Health First Aid' staff who can work alongside teachers to spot mental health issues early. Support is quicky put into place with the patnership of school and families.
Why is Mental Health so important to us?
We believe that children have the right to feel safe, secure and happy. We also believe that this is the same for our school family members, families and school staff. Without good mental health children are unable to access their full learning potential.
"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life." John Lennon
The whole school family value the importance of a good level of mental health. Walking around our school you will see teachers using peaceful music and mindful moments to compose ourselves. Chimes and singing bowls are used to ground ourselves in the moment. Classes enjoy sessions of yoga with teachers and highly skilled teaching assistants. Groups of children and individual pupils are able to partake in bespoke mindful sessions with our very own therapist Ms Tsang. We find that children who may have struggled with a life change, or managing their feelings, use the methods shared with them and become independant self help. Our aim is for children to be equiped with a toolkit of strategies to tackle all that life may challenge them with as they grow up. This includes resiliance, coping strategies, self awareness and knowing when they need to ask for help in life.
